Be back next year? What for?

What is it that we have to have soap opera mixed in with sci-fi? The human drama interfering with a good sci-fi story has rarely–if ever–worked in American production.

Even if the aliens are destined to win, what we want to see is the courageous going down to the inevitable end with their chins held up high, self-sacrifice, and not going quietly into the night. Whatever happened to the spirit of the WWII movies that showed “True Grit” in the face of almost impossible odds?

Too much attention is given to the negative human elements, as if we don’t have enough of those in real life. If humanity is supposed to survive with the worst of the worst of human qualities, perhaps it would be best to surrender now and allow the entire human race disappear from this insignificant ball in a corner of the galaxy.

I was watching the 3rd episode with some friend, we were laughing about the fact that the first good guy to die was black, since it is a matter of joke between us. This time i saw another black guy stupid enough to jeopardize the whole team … Another fun fact is that black guys are “just” soldiers no more no less. Strange show.

You should keep on commenting on Speilberg’s other 2011 family blockbuster “Terra Nova” which at least after 3 eps seems a lot better that FS. Interesting how La Speilberg seems to see them as 2 parts of a late life set “FS is not a program about Aliens its a program about Family”, “Terra Nova is not a program about dinosaurs its a program about Family”. We get it. You made ET and the one with the shark in it which wasnt a movie about killer sharks but about families that get torn apart by sharks. The problem is one of the reasons many of us watch escapist tv with aliens and dinosaurs is to get the f*** away from our families so we dont want to see a better looking, more interactive version f our loser one when we do. The only worthwhile families on tv are the ones that are even more dysfunctional than our own aka The Simpsons.

LOL, so let me guess. If I happen to write stories, which I do, and they make it to television of cinema, which I hope they will, and in it a lot of white people die, because I’m black, then there might be some conspiracy about my racial views. I’m sorry man, but I’ve been in these kinds of conversations before ranging from comics to movies. Sometimes it’s just the characters. Right now I’m catching up and I’m on episode 3 and one of the black guys jeopardized the whole team to save his son when the other guy’s son is there too. So sometimes, it is just a character thing. Nobody said anything when tons of white people died on Star Trek because they wore red shirts.

This was definitely the best episode, after the finale of course, because it was just mind blowing. Also, the cliffhanger ending made my jaw drop!

I zap on pilot and was like :/
Wow thats look so cheap bad effects and not interesting .I force my self to try to watch the pilot .
Steven Speilberg disappoint me ..again.Before I was thinking Speiberg film that would be good ..but no more ..Sadly ..the name doesnt means the same for me.
V was 10 time better s,ame for SGU was much better I miss them both.
Im a SI FY fan and I cant find something good to watch now that these ^^ two series are gone

I’m thinking this episode was more Kafka than Wyndham, you know man wakes up and discovers he has turned into a giant bug. But definitely an improvement over the previous eps and makes me want to keep watching. I think they are going to have a real problem showing kids being shot so maybe they are setting them up as supreme good guys so they can avoid it. You know I lived in Boston – it hasn’t changed much – still an alien infested rat hole.
