I actually think this might have been the best episode so far. It wasn’t great or anything but at least there were not any laugh out loud moments. The sci-fi story underneath the BS is pretty good. The doctor and the the religious girl found a harness inside one of the the skitters so it’s looking like the harnesses eventually make you into a skitter.
The also introduced some creepy tall willowy aliens which were ok. There was not any extremely gratuitous “family” moments. Well except for the nonsense with Weaver wanting to go to his old home and go to sleep or whatever.
I think they should have just executed the red haired lady. I mean doesn’t leaving her alive mean she will sell out some other survivors. In this show they do the kinder gentler thing sometimes, that in the big picture means someone else will suffer because of it. The idea of good people having to do terrible things in war, in order to save lives in the long run is totally absent in this show.
Pope got some more screen time, which is good because he is the only good character on the show. The scenes in this episode with him reminded me of when Micheal Ironside’s character “Ham Tyler” debuted in V- The final battle. I don’t know if any of you have watched that but basically Pope is kind of like Ham in that he is kind of a bad guy who now fights for good. Ham also showed the resistance fighters how to make Teflon bullets which could pierce the Alien armor, does that sound familiar? Here is a video or Ham http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFgg3vHw6ms
I thought it was kind of funny, the contrast between Weaver who was going to give up fighting because his family died and Pope who appears to have no family or friends and is single minded in his desire to keep fighting.

I’m thinking this episode was more Kafka than Wyndham, you know man wakes up and discovers he has turned into a giant bug. But definitely an improvement over the previous eps and makes me want to keep watching. I think they are going to have a real problem showing kids being shot so maybe they are setting them up as supreme good guys so they can avoid it. You know I lived in Boston – it hasn’t changed much – still an alien infested rat hole.
This was definitely the best episode, after the finale of course, because it was just mind blowing. Also, the cliffhanger ending made my jaw drop!
